looks like could be an ally…

Lee Lee:

Oh my GOD! Jill Levenson!! Oh my F***ING WORD! Really? I’m going to wet my pants. Let her in as fast as possible!!

She has written ALL of the TOP research on sex offenders with a focus on residency restrictions.

Cheryl:

I just aproved her. I am SOOOOOO excited! What a coincidence, I was just reading a bunch of her reports today.
Perhaps she is here because Lets or someone contacted her that SOSEN was having the symposium???
I hope she posts, I hope she sees important stuff. Maybe we should make a big WE LOVE JILL LEVENSON Poster on the main page of the fourm? No? TOO MUCH? I guess I am just giddy with excitement. My first response was that it was AZ trying to get in…how paranoid is that???

Book38:

If she starts getting bombarded with a lot of PM’s, we need to change her screen name. I would also like staff to consider letting her have “staf” status. This way, if she would like, we can use some of her thoughts and idea’s for upcoming projects……ones she would be able to comment on and do some PR for.

She would not be a regular member of staff, just a very special guest who has access to the staff area.

Rod:

shhh shhhh shhhh shit! OMG. Marge must have gotten in touch with her.

Rod:

If we do, than we should DELETE THIS THREAD. We sound like a bunch of juveniles.

Coolrich001:

I think she would enjoy this thread. It shows how much we respect her.
I don’t post much, anymore, but this is one subject I will comment on. Give her access to anything she wants. Even if she is using us for research, it will be a good thing. We are the REAL RFSOs!

Rod:

Anyway you look at it, this is very very exciting. My biggest prayer is that she consent to the symposium. Jill Levenson, Sarah Tofte would guarentee a few members of the house as well as other prominent people in Oklahoma and elsewhere.
People would jump at the chance to speak at the symposium. It will get national media coverage.

I know we could get state media, TV and newspaper. I know 20/20 would be there with bells on and I believe NPR would be ringing everyone for interviews.

Cheryl:

I just checked her stats and she was on for 7 minutes this evening. No idea what she was looking at.

Rod:

I just sent an e-mail to the Symposium’s contact with Jill Levenson to confirm this e-mail address. Who knows this could be another HRW_ORG situation. Better to be sure before we invite anyone into staff or go off half cocked and give away the farm

Cheryl:

Not necessary. I just got an email to the forum (because I am an adm.) and it was from Dr. Jill Levenson to flowergirl about a research project.
I hope these people to NOT inundate her with emails, PM’s and requests. We would lose her really quickly that way, IMHO
Not sure what the best way to handle that is. If we say anything it makes people aware she is here and would increase the problem. If we address flowergirl, she will get pissed off and who knows what she will do…I have felt the brunt of her “righteous” anger over a tiny thing in the past. Waddya think?

Lee Lee:

Cheryl, maybe you should email Dr. Levenson and suggest that she change her User ID. Let her know that she is revered by many in this forum and they may get a little over-excited and “star-struck”.

I guess it depends on why she’s here and if she minds that kind of attention.

Rod:

I already did that.

Cheryl:

Let us PLEASE not bombard her with pms and emails P L E A S E!
This woman is a prolific researcher and writer among the other things she does… we MUST not act like vacume cleaners and try to SUCK everything out of her. We could easily scare her off, or simply have her decide that it is not worth her time to be here. It is important to understand that we do NOT even know why she is here!
Perhaps we may need a REGULATORY SYSTEM in place in regards to pm ing her.
This could be a fabulous opportunity and we DONT want to screw it up by acting like over eager needy children ( even if we actually FEEL that way lol)

Lee Lee:

Can we designate a staff person to communicate with her to avoid multiple well-intentioned PMs?

Rod:

My e-mail was respectful of the fact of who she is. and only suggested that she may want to change her username due to her popularity. I did not try and suck anything out of her.lol.

We really don’t know if this is really her. I sent out an e-mail to authenticate this e-mail address with the person from the symposium who is our contact person with her.

Flower and I have a very good relationship and we are working on projects together for the symposium. Flower, knows the importance of recruiting Dr Levenson. We’ve PM’d each other numerous times concerning that very thing.

Cheryl:

As I said before Lets, Jill Levenson sent an email to our forum

The message they sent you was:

Hi Jill,

Welcome to the forum! I joined this forum as the wife of an RSO. I’m also a PhD in Public Health and am beginning to develop my line of research in sexual abuse prevention focusing specifically on the consequences of Megan’s Law (and AWA now I guess!) to RSO’s and their families. If you have time, I was wondering if you would be interested in looking at my questionnaire (with acknowledgements should it ever be published, of course). I’m almost ready to submit the project to IRB and any feedback you might be able to provide would be greatly appreciated.

Book had ALREADY sent her a message, as the secretary of SOSEN about changing her username. Too many people telling her of possible problems, could, in fact, scare her off, or PUT her off.
I think a designated liason is a good idea. Perhaps several people. But I would also say if a staff person wants to communicate with her that they should seek an OK and aproval of general content before hand. This would prevent the above duplicate messages. I just don’t want to be too heavy handed in this, but I think it is important to keep our eagerness in close check. By the way, she has not returned since her original l7 minute visit.

Rod:

Well, I’d say that definitely authenticates that it is her.lol And the reason she is here.

Now, I need to pick Flower’s brain a little and/or find out if and how she might bring up the symposium.

It would be nice to hear from Sarah Tofte but that won’t happen until Linda gets her computer set up. A few more days at least. Once we know for a fact that Sarah will be there, then perhaps, I can approach Flower and in turn she may be able to approach Dr. Levenson.

Flower herself would love to speak at the symposium but her husband insists on no publicity.

Linda:

YEA!!!!!!! I go away for acouple a days……. I am at the library Sarah still has not replied. I will keep checking.

Cheryl:

The email does NOT suggest the reason she is here. Flowergirl sent her a PM AFTER she got here asking her if she could send her a report. (which I think is exactly the thing we do NOT want to do immediatly upon her arival)

Lee Lee:

BTW - how did flowergirl know she was here since she hadn’t posted and we didn’t tell anybody?

Rod:

She may have invited Jill in the first place.

We’ve been discussing Dr Levenson privately for a few weeks. Jill’s e-mail address is her “Private” e-mail address. Not her business, professional one.

Don’t ask how I know that. But I do know that as a fact.
