My integrity mean everything to me. i will not be part of an organization that thinks it is Ok for staff member(static) and our COO to post personal attacks in the national forum. credibility credibility credibility It only gives PJ ammunition.
We had 2 meetings about this. And know everything that was discussed last night and Sat night means nothing. We have a policy and procedure That means nothing. thanks Static for writing the letter you said you would write to Cheryl.
I will not be given ultimatums.
I am working my ass off to get SOSEN national attention.There is a reason I do everything that I do. I have NEVER been accused of not being fair and reasonable. I will not let inexperienced members dictate to me how to run a forum or how to network with the other RSO agencies, So clear etc….
Cheryl crossed WAYYYY over the line. The Lets problem has already been decided on twice.Linda

I’ve attacked no one and won’t respond to this attack on me other than to say that I am actually a Board member with the same vote as you. I didn’t “dictate” anything that I wasn’t specifically asked to weigh in on. The person who asked me to intervene in your fight was you. My actions and words are very reasonable, and I’ve been equally tough on Cheryl for her part in this. The reason you aren’t privy to what I’ve said to Cheryl is that she is no longer allowed to communicate here, so my words to her had to be offered in emails and phone calls. I’ve given my opinions as anyone else here is allowed to do. The only time I “told” you or Cheryl what to do was when I demanded that you both stop acting like nincompoops. That particular subject was the one you asked me personally to weigh in on.
Everything else you see as some kind of attack is nothing more than me doing what I’ve always done and been lauded for- offering my opinion. I can’t help it that I’m the only one willing to say the things that we all are thinking, and I shouldn’t be discounted. I’m just as valuable as anyone else. There was a reason you called me and asked me to intervene in your fight- I can only assume that it was because my opinion mattered to you. But ever since I’ve gotten involved in your stupid, petty fight, you’ve belittled me and acted like I have no right to express myself about what everyone but you and Cheryl can see is very unacceptable behavior by both of you. If I’m so inexperienced, out of control, hot-headed, and stupid- why would you have ver asked me to intervene in the first place? I’m sorry Linda, but you’re reacting toward me out of anger which I neither deserve nor will put up with. Before you see me as some “boy” who doesn’t know his ass from a hole in the ground, you may want to think long and hard about what qualities of mine prompted you to call me and ask for me to intervene. And why you wanted me on Staff. And why you asked me to join the Board. And why you seem to have changed your mind now. I’m no Lets- I rarely do anything out of spite. And I’m not afraid to tell the truth- even when it pains me to tell it. I would respectfully ask you to consider whether you are taking out some of your anger on me without just cause. And I would ask you to think twice before running me out of Sosen or silencing me. I may be arrogant, but I think Sosen is better with me than without me- this is true of all Staff, IMO- Sosen needs all of us. I just happen to think that Sosen also needs Cheryl. Because you haven’t been able to see how hard I’ve been on Cheryl, you may have the impression that I’m one-sided in this. I assure you that I’ve said equally uncomfortable things to her. But those things needed to be said. Now the rest of us are just waiting with baited breath to see if either of you will listen. Cheryl is read only, so you have the power here to fix this or let it continue- she doesn’t. My every post since this crap started was trying to get either or both of you to see reason. For that, you are now mad at me. That’s ok, I’m thick-skinned, and I know that your anger toward me is misplaced. I’ve made no personal attacks against Lets- believe me when I tell you that there would be no ambiguity if I had. I think you know this…

Oldman, I couldn’t agree more. Thank you for staying reasonable so often.This whole thread is a bit much. Anyone who wishes to smite me, feel free. You see, Karma points on a web forum don’t have any effect on my self-esteem. I rarely even bother to notice how many points I have. Karma is a good thing for the reasons Oldman gave. When it’s abused, it’s more a reflection on the person doing the abusing than the person getting smited.
And Lets- aren’t you the one who told me you were engaging in a “smite” campaign against another person here? I have no problem with that- as I said Karma’s really irrelevant to me. But it seems to me that you can’t get upset about someone abusing the Karma system if you are doing the same. In the end, it’s really just a stupid feature of our forum, and harmless. And diddling around with someone’s Karma is stupid and childish- of course that applies to EVERYONE who does it.
If I got on this forum and posted that I think Billm is a jerk (I don’t think that, but it’s an example), I really have no right to complain when he responds in kind. The same holds true for Karma. So how about everyone quit belly-aching about something so dumb, ok?

No, “Applaud only” is the equivalent of no Karma at all. The truth is that Karma can be a very good way to give feedback to someone without flaming them. There’s a very simple solution to this problem-Those who are engaging in stupid “Karma campaigns” should knock it off. And when they do engage in such stupidity, they should not complain when others do likewise. This is the solution. Anything else is just plain dumb.

In my opinion smiting is no different than bashing. This is suppose to be a support Network and smite is being abused. so is karma. I say do away with the thing. It’s stupid. I don’t give a hoot if I only have 5 but when people for no reason smite than it’s stupid. Well, stupid people do stupid things.
What can I say other than it is childish and immature.In a way, this thread tells me more than I’ve known concerning some.

Lets- To coin a phrase- get real…You told me about it in our last phone conversation. I didn’t take it very seriously because I honestly don’t care one way or the other about Karma- but you did tell me this yourself. I wouldn’t have brought it up, except that you are starting an entire thread complaining about someone doing the very same thing you were doing. I repeat- Karma wars are stupid. If you engage in them, you have no reason to complain when others respond in kind. What’s the big deal? If you wanted your old Karma points, you shouldn’t have deleted your membership. If you want to be at 50 Karma points or so again, then earn the points like you did the first time. Why is this such a big deal to you? This has got to be the silliest thread I’ve seen in a while.

I can’t beleive this thread is still going. Somebody on the staff make a decision and lets move on already. SOSEN is turning into a bad soap opera. Everyday we seem to spend more time attacking/defending someone. A lot of wasted energy if you ask me. I’ve betrayed no one. It seems that when I voice agreement on a few things, it’s taken to mean that I agree with everything. I don’t completely 100% agree with anyone most of the time, and I don’t hide my opinions.This thread is going into off-topic territory and getting a little personal, so it’s now locked.

I’ve already explained myself on the other thread which deals with Lets’ Karma post. Everyone here knows that Lets was engaging in the very behavior he was complaining about. And to make matters worse, he was acting like it is some kind of failing of Sosen that this happened, when it was actually his own abuse of Karma that caused it. Now I could’ve told Lets what I really think about him, but instead I disagreed, gave damned good reasons for disagreeing and locked the thread when he started in on why he was “forced” to resign. Then I promptly reported here in Staff what was going on. These aren’t the actions of someone who is letting their anger get the best of them. Yes, I dared to use the mighty unmentionable name of Lets- this is because I was responding to him. If there’s some other way to respond to someone without using their name, I’d sure like to hear about it.
The truth is that you’re pissed and are using me as a whipping boy. You even called me “boy” on another thread. Knock it off. Or you will be as guilty of running people out of Sosen as you say Cheryl is. Kinda like Lets’ thread- you really shouldn’t complain about someone else’s behavior when you’re doing the same thing. I have tried to be patient because I know that this mess has put you under a lot of stress. But I’ve done nothing wrong to you or anyone else. I have and will continue to tell Cheryl when I think she’s wrong, and I’ll do the same with you. You were the one who dragged me into your fight. And you both are responsible for its effects on Sosen. Here’s an idea- think about your own part in this, consider whether an imperious attitude has worked thus far. Then think about trying something new. I’ve got as much right to my opinions as you- and I’m not currently bringing down Sosen because of a stupid grudge. Don’t you dare tell me about inexperience or bad judgment- it was your and Cheryl’s personal beef which started all this. I may be newer than you, but I’m not so new that I can’t see your irrationality. And unless you’re going to delete me next, I’ve got the same vote you have. Sheesh! If I’m such a nut, it sure doesn’t reflect well on your judgment- after all, every position I’ve held I was requested to hold. Now, it’s obvious that you have free reign to do as you wish. But as long as I’m still allowed to be here, I’ll damn sure express myself honestly. It would be wise to pick a new whipping boy. You brought me into this because you trusted my judgment. Have the courage to trust my judgment then… Because it’s obvious that your and Cheryl’s judgment is questionable right now.
So we can let this devolve into yet another argument, or you can go over to the thread you started -something about ending the drama- and respond to what I wrote there. I’m not your enemy, Linda- if you weren’t so pissed right now, you’d see that.
